Joe Danny Perry, Sr.

LEXINGTON--Joe Danny Perry, Sr., 68, of Lexington, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Annie Martin Perry and the late Calvin D. Perry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dillie Ann Willis Perry; two sons, Joe D. Perry, Jr. of Lexington and Michael A. Perry of Columbia; brother, Russell M. Perry (Rachel) of Columbia; three beloved dogs, Sunshine, Queenie and Pauline; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Joe was a graduate of Columbia High School. He was a member of the South Carolina National Guard and worked for 47 years for the Department of Mental Health, General Services and at Surplus Property. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Temple #325 of Olympia, and was a member of the Latrons.

Funeral services for Joe D. Perry, Sr., will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Mr. Bill Stroman, Mr. Copeland Willis and Mr. Andy Lopez will speak. Burial with military honors will follow in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Pacific Masonic Lodge #325. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pets, Inc., PO Box 6304, West Columbia, SC 29171.
 
The Lodge will open at 11:00 to conduct Masonic Rites for Bro. Perry.
