COLUMBIA - Service with military honors for Chief Master Sgt. Charles Lloyd Skipper, Sr., U.S. Air Force (Ret.), 75, will be held Friday at 1 p.m at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Christopher, Brady, Cory Skipper, Jack Skipper, Doug Horton, George Wright, Jack Bradshaw, Bob Kunkel, Paul Williams, Paul Barnett and Jay McElveen. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Skipper died Sunday, January 18, 2009. Born in Rockingham, N.C., he was a son of the late Daniel Jackson and Ida Hancock Skipper. He was predeceased by his first wife of forty-seven years, Helen Jumper Skipper. Retired as command sergeant after thirty years in the U.S. Air Force, he served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Rebecca Arnold Cannon Skipper; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles L., Jr. and Dianne Skipper of Chapin, and Michael C. and Tracey Skipper of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Christopher Skipper and Brady Skipper, both of Chapin, Cory Skipper, Casey Ann Skipper and Camren Skipper, all of Albuquerque; brother, Jackson L. Skipper of Columbia; and sister, Rena White of Rockingham, N.C.
