HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORT

Pacific Masonic Lodge, in conjunction with area Boy Scout Troops, has launched a project to send a semi-tractor-trailer full of drinking water and medical supplies to the hurricane stricken areas of the Gulf Coast.  All items will be distributed by area churches.

One truckload of water is already ON THE WAY!!!  Help us send more vital supplies to those in need.

Members of the Lodge will be with Boy Scout Troops this Saturday, September 3 and Mondy, September 5 at various locations raising funds to purchase the water and supplies.

WE HAVE THE TRUCK, WE HAVE THE DRIVER, WE HAVE THE FUEL, WE HAVE THE WILL.

WE NEED FUNDING TO GET THIS DONE.

If you can help, please do.  We are accepting monetary contributions which will ALL go to disaster relief.  If you want to send us a check, please make it payable to either:

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA (B.S.A.)
or
Pacific Lodge 325 AFM

FOR:  Disaster Relief Fund

Please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you!

UPDATE:

In some 7 days, the local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of the midlands, along with Pacific and Pontaic Lodges, raised some $ 8,000 and have sent the first truck of water to Louisiana.

The work is still unfinished and will take time to complete.  Your assistance is still needed.  Here in Columbia, we have SC Cares which is taking care of the "Survivors of Katrina" being located here in the midlands.

Medical, pastoral and clerical help is needed as well as food, beverages, clothing and any assistance you can provide.  We need to be at the forefront of this effort.  We need to show these people that Masons are HERE FOR THEM and working together, we CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

If you can't help locally, any donation to the Masonic Services Associateion is greatly appreciated and will be sent on accordingly and distributed equally among the areas hardest hit.

News reports today of some 25,000 body bags being requested in New Orleans may only be the beginning.  We need to help in the LONG HAUL.  Please offer what you can to help us help them.

Above all, please keep them and all those in need of God's Grace in your thoughts and prayers!

Thank you.  God Bless you.
And GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Our thanks go to Henry Richardson, Scoutmaster of Troop 324 in Columbia for spearheading this effort along with W. Bro. Edward Neely of Pacific Lodge # 325, A.F.M.  You are an inspiration.
